Synopsis: |
Gene Autry, head of the Flagpole Cattlemen's Association, sends young Jimmy Agnew into Sage City with the local ranchers' cattle to negotiate their sale. Aboard the train, however, Jimmy is swindled in a poker game by a professional gambling ring. Jimmy disappears, and Gene and Frog set out after him. Gene's investigation of the gamblers leads him to the conclusion that Asa Lock, father of his sweetheart Stephanie, is their ringleader. After a series of tiffs with Lock, Gene gets the evidence he wants and sends Jimmy to town to inform the District Attorney. Lock orders his henchmen to wreck Jimmy's car - then learns that Stephanie is also a passenger. He stages a spectacular chase to prevent his daughter being killed. With the aid of Gene, Lock manages to prevent the crash, but is fatally injured himself.
