Brief Synopsis:

A feud between a Union Army veteran and a Confederate Army veteran gets out of hand when the two men accuse each other of a robbery and a shooting.

Detailed Synopsis:
Confederate Army veteran Muskets Corby and Union Army veteran Hannibal Samson are sworn enemies. When a man wearing a Confederate Army uniform steals Hannibal’s black stallion, Muskets is accused. Ed Talbot, the lawyer who sold the stallion to Hannibal, identifies it in Muskets’ corral. Gene Autry and Pat Buttram persuade the sheriff to release Muskets to their custody, promising that they’ll return the stallion. Dissatisfied with this decision, Hannibal vows to kill Muskets. Gene learns that Talbot holds the deed to Muskets’ ranch and stands to get it if Muskets dies. At Talbot’s, they find a gray uniform that proves he perpetrated both the theft and an attempted murder. Gene changes clothes with Muskets and when the heavies attack, he is ready for them. They are finished in fine style with a raging gun battle. A treasure buried by Quantrell’s Raiders is found on the borderline between Hannibal’s and Muskets’ ranch, so the old soldiers must give up their feud in order to share the fortune.
