Brief Synopsis:

Detailed Synopsis:
Gene Autry, one of two heirs to the Lazy L Ranch, is held up on his way to see it by three masked men: Bart, Lem, and Cady. He escapes but is able to capture Cady with the help of his friend, Pat Buttram. Cady refuses to talk, so Gene and Pat tie him up and take him with them. At the Lazy L, they meet the other heir, Pauline Logan, and her secretary, Hortense Appleby. After the will is read by neighboring rancher and attorney John Latimer, Pauline announces that she intends to sell to Latimer, but Gene refuses. Latimer leaves to let Gene and Pauline divide up the ranch; she draws a line through the living room table. Unfortunately, she does not have the kitchen or the livestock on her side. Gene humorously refuses to feed her in an attempt to make her behave. The next morning Pat leaves for town, and Pauline, unable to talk Gene out of a horse, starts walking. Gene follows, so she pretends to sprain her ankle to get his horse. After arriving at Latimer’s, she turns Champ loose. Pat is detained by Cady, who takes him back towards the Lazy L. They meet Gene, and Cady prepares to force them all over a cliff. However, Cady is attacked and killed by Champ. Before he dies, Cady reveals that Latimer is behind all the trouble because he found oil on the Lazy L. Gene and Pat start for Latimer’s ranch, where Pauline’s about to sign over the lease. She sees Bart and Lem outside and tries to back out of the deal, but just as Latimer makes her sign, Gene and Pat arrive. After a terrific fight, Gene and Pat capture the heavies and Latimer.
