Autry National Center Community Blood Drive
Updated December 15, 2010

Once again the Museum's blood drive was a success! Sixteen units of life-saving whole blood where donated. Since each unit of blood collected can potentially save the lives of three patients, the blood collected will be use to save up to 48 patients. Thank you to everyone who gave blood.

So it is no surprise that the museum he founded has held community blood drives and is gearing up for the second one for this year. We are pleased to announce that the Autry Museum will have a blood drive on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

If you have donated blood before, you know how rewarding the experience can be. The Museum’s blood drive in July generated 29 pints of blood and we hope to meet that goal this time. Below you’ll find details on how to sign up.

Gene Autry and Shirley Temple were photographed at Shirley's home in Brentwood, California, to promote the June 22, 1940 American Red Cross "Radio Benefit for War Relief" event. That's her dog Ching-Ching in the third photo. Gene Autry is playing his Gibson J-200 guitar which is currently part of the Autry Museum's collection.
