Auld Lang Syne
Gene Autry's Melody Ranch Radio Show
(December 31, 1949)

Gene Autry's December 31, 1949 Melody Ranch New Year's Eve Party radio broadcast featured some of the songs folks at Melody Ranch liked best in 1949 including "Buttons and Bows," "Ghost Riders in the Sky," "Mule Train," and " the Red-Nosed Reindeer." The program concluded with Gene's thoughtful introduction to the traditional New Year's song, "Auld Lang Syne." The song is performed by the entire production: Gene Autry, Charlie Lyon, Pat Buttram, Johnny Bond, the Cass County Boys, the Pinafores, and Carl Cotner's Orchestra. And of course, Gene and Charlie wrap up the year with a commercial from "delicious, refreshing, Doublemint Chewing Gum."
