Fun Autry Fact:

Gene's television production schedule called for him to shoot two episodes of his half-hour television series at the same time.

Medley: "Montana Plains," "Home Corral," "When It's Chilly Down in Chile," "Call of the Canyon"
from Call of the Canyon (1942)

Kit Carson (Ruth Terry) finally gets her Harmony Ranch radio show and kicks it off with a big song and dance number by the whole gang in Gene Autry's Republic Pictures film Call of the Canyon (1942). The finally medley includes "Montana Plains" sung by all the cowboys and cowgirls; "Home Corral" by Sons of the Pioneers; "When It's Chilly Down In Chile" by Ruth Terry, and "Call of the Canyon" by Gene Autry. There's also fun cowboy and cowgirl Jitterbug dancing and some "scoot-boot" scatting by Smiley Burnette.

Sons of the Pioneers are in three Gene Autry films The Big Show (1936), The Old Corral (1936) and Call of the Canyon (1942). Roy Rogers – the singing cowboy most associated with Sons of the Pioneers – is part of the singing group in the 1936 films but not in Call of the Canyon.
