Gene Autry's December 24, 1949 Melody Ranch Christmas Eve Party radio broadcast opened with a special performance – a medley of his 1947 holiday hit "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" and his new seasonal sensation "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

Announcer Charlie Lyon introduces this clip. Gene is joined by the musical trios the Cass County Boys and the Pinafores plus Carl Cotner's Orchestra.

Gene Autry debuted "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" on his Melody Ranch Radio Show November 30, 1947. He debuted "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" on his October 8, 1949 show. This medley of both Christmas classics was only performed once by Gene on his radio show, December 24, 1949.
