White Christmas
Gene Autry's Melody Ranch Radio Show
(December 15, 1946)

It might seem odd that announcer Lou Crosby introduces the holiday hit "White Christmas" as "this week's cowboy classic." But as Gene explains, it is "a song that has come to mean Christmas to all of us." For this December 15, 1946 performance, Gene is backed by the Cass County Boys, the Pinafores, and Carl Cotner's Orchestra. And included as an added bonus, is Gene and Lou's Wrigley's Spearmint Gum ad.

Gene Autry never recorded the song "White Christmas" for commercial release but it was significant enough to him that he performed it on his radio show over a dozen times between 1942 and 1955.
