Brief Synopsis:

A stage is robbed, and a bejeweled dancer and a wounded cavalryman are among the victims of the attack.

Detailed Synopsis:

U.S. Marshal Gene Autry escorts the stage bound for San Dimas because all of the other runs have been cancelled due to an impending Apache uprising. Aboard the stage are Captain Randy Jones, an army officer on a mission to halt the Indian trouble, and three civilians. One of these, a shapely entertainer named "Diamond" Della Dix, carries a fortune in jewelry. Her bodyguard, Cliff Barton, accompanies her. The other passenger, Pat Buttram, is bound for San Dimas to recover his stolen mule. Gene tries to discourage the civilians from making the dangerous trip, but they will not listen. The stage is attacked by an Apache band and then held up by two masked bandits, who get away with Diamond Della's jewelry. Gene, however, following the robbers, proves the masked men were hired by Cliff Barton, who then double-crossed both henchmen by substituting imitation jewelry for the real stuff, which he stole himself. In the end, Captain Jones is on time to stop the Indian War, Diamond Della is on time for her show-date, and Pat Buttram is reunited with his pet mule.
