Brief Synopsis:

Gene and Pat help the Mexican government when they trail smugglers.

Detailed Synopsis:

A deadly new explosive is smuggled over the U.S. border into Mexico, and innocent lives are lost by the careless handling of the unknown cargo. Because the explosions remain as much a mystery as the smuggling, a Mexican government official asks Gene Autry and Pat Buttram to help run down the gang. Pat, although trying to be helpful, is preoccupied with a layer cake and a cute French bakery owner. When the Mexican official is gunned down by the smugglers, clues left at the scene of the crime put Gene on the right trail. With Pat innocently holding a boxful of the explosives on his lap in a racing buckboard, Gene figures out the puzzle and tracks down the smugglers and their phony boss.
