A Gathering of Guns 4 – A TV Western Reunion

The Memphis Film Festival began in 1972 to honor the stars and films of the B-Westerns such as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Tom Mix and Monte Hale. Many of the Silver Screen stars living at that time attended this popular event. In 2008, the festival began honoring the stars and programs of the television Western era. Now recognized as the top Western film festival, the Memphis Film Festival: A Gathering of Guns 4 – A TV Western Reunion, attracts nearly 900 attendees each year. Always held the first weekend of June, this year's festival promises to be the biggest ever honoring 27 stars of the TV Western era.

Gene Autry Entertainment is delighted to announce that the Gene Autry connection at this year's Memphis Film Festival will be Maxine Hansen, long time Executive Assistant to Mr. and Mrs. Gene Autry, and Holly George-Warren, Gene Autry's official biographer and author of Public Cowboy No. 1: The Life and Times of Gene Autry. In addition to participating in a panel discussion, Maxine and Holly look forward to answering questions regarding Gene Autry, his life, careers, and legacy.

With four viewing rooms that run simultaneously and continuously from 10:00am until 11:00pm each day, the Memphis Film Festival will run over 125 feature films and TV shows. Event highlights include a Panel of Stars each day, where you can ask questions, meet your favorite Western star, and get personally autographed pictures. Saturday night is the popular Celebrity Awards Banquet The festival also features a huge Dealer's Room with over a dozen entertainment related memorabilia venders.

The Memphis Film Festival: A Gathering of Guns 4 – A TV Western Reunion is held at the Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center, in Olive Branch Mississippi – just a quick 20 minutes south of Memphis, Tennessee.
